Jan–Feb 2026 Activity Report: Food Assistance in Minato-ku

Post date: Friday, March 6, 2026

In January and February, we continued providing food assistance to households in need and to organizations supporting people experiencing homelessness in Minato-ku. Thanks to the warm support of local residents and corporate partners, we have been able to continue delivering assistance to the community. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your ongoing support.

Updates from our daily activities and messages of appreciation to our supporters are also shared on Facebook, X, and Instagram. If you have any surplus food at home or in your workplace, we would greatly appreciate your continued support.

Rice Distributed to Senior Housing in Minato-ku

Additional rice generously donated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was delivered to senior housing in Minato-ku.

With rising living costs continuing to affect many people, we were able to deliver rice to elderly residents living on pensions who are facing difficult financial circumstances. The support was greatly appreciated by the residents.

Food Distribution to Households in Minato-ku

In collaboration with Takanawa Food Pantry, food was distributed to 52 households in Minato-ku that require support.

In February, we also worked with 1 Hotel Tokyo, where staff members kindly helped with sorting and preparing food for distribution. We sincerely appreciate their support and cooperation.

Donations from Pal System and the National Printing Bureau

Pal System Consumers’ Cooperative generously donated a large amount of rice. In addition, many food items were donated by the National Printing Bureau, located in Minato-ku. We sincerely appreciate their warm support.

Homeless Support and Other Activities

We also participated as volunteers in the Sunday food distribution organized by Grama Seva Japan at Yoyogi Park. Through hands-on support at the site, we had the opportunity to once again recognize the kinds of assistance that are currently needed.

In addition, we continue to provide support to Refugee Support Organization REN and St. Alban’s Church.

Food Bank Azabu aims to both reduce food loss and support the local community. We will continue our activities in collaboration with local residents and corporate partners.
