July-August Food Support: Delivered Food to Needy Families in Minato-ku

Post date: Tuesday, August 27, 2024

From July to August, we delivered food to needy families in Minato City, homeless support organizations, refugee support organizations, organizations supporting foreign nationals in need, and organizations supporting the independence of homeless individuals.

This month, we also received many donations from individuals and companies within Minato City. Despite the rising cost of living, some people went out of their way to purchase and deliver food for those in need. Additionally, thanks to the cooperation of Pal-System, we were able to distribute more rice than usual. We deeply appreciate the support and cooperation of everyone involved.

*Our thanks for your support are posted on our social media (FacebookTwitterInstagram).

The prices of rice and food have increased, and donations have decreased, leading to a shortage of food at food banks everywhere. Meanwhile, the number of people seeking help from food banks is rising.

Needy Families in Minato City - 50 Households

In July and August, we distributed rice, retort pouch foods, nutritional supplements, instant rice, canned goods, snacks, and other items to 50 households in Minato City, sorting them by household, through the Takanawa Food Pantry. During this period, when school meals are not available, many families struggle to provide sufficient meals, increasing the need for more food. Thanks to the generous donations we received, we were able to distribute more food than usual.

Homeless Support Organizations

We delivered a large amount of food to Grama Seva Japan, an organization that supports the homeless in Yoyogi Park. Volunteers from our company also participated, distributing items such as disaster-preparedness biscuits.

Refugee Empowerment Network (REN)

We delivered preserved biscuits, brown rice, curry rice sets, and instant rice to the refugee support organization REN, and they were very pleased.

Food Bank Meguro

We delivered disaster-preparedness food, 'Sweet and Spicy Braised Pork,' to Food Bank Meguro. They also mentioned that they are currently experiencing a shortage of food.

General Incorporated Association Nanairo

Nanairo is an organization that supports the relocation of homeless individuals to regular housing. We delivered canned bread, retort pouch curry, and other items to them.
